In the photo above, Salvation Army Canteen volunteers are busy serving lunch to the Tennessee VOAD Member Agency Representatives at our last quarterly meeting. Thanks to Ron Harmon from the Salvation Army - Nashville Area Command for arranging for the team to provide us with a great lunch!

The Salvation Army volunteers involved were: Arlene Luke (in the Canteen’s window) Bev Callaway (far right), Dan Lawning (standing to Bev’s right), and Arlene’s husband Jim Luke (unfortunately not captured in this photo). It was actually 102^o that day, and hotter still on the pavement, but the Canteen’s crew took it all in stride, and never muttered a word of complaint! That’s dedication.

Also pictured are Linda Bloodworth - Tennessee Manufactured Housing Foundation (far left), Tennessee VOAD Vice-President Gloria Loftin – American Red Cross (center), and Juli Gallup – Tennessee Disability Law Advocacy Center (lavender blouse).

When not involved in disaster response, the Canteen is used to feed Nashville’s homeless population. We can all show our thanks by sending a donation to: Salvation Army – Nashville Area Command. Be sure to designate your contribution for: “the Soup Wagon Project.”
